Youth Volunteers Needed For 2008

Parkdale Youth Festival

Volunteers
Volunteers remain crucial to providing the leadership and hard work of organizing, producing, and operating Parkdale Youth Festival. TX Productions needs a large pool of dedicated and highly-skilled volunteers to sustain the event and its growth.

Saturday August 23rd- 2 PM to 10 PM
Masaryk-Cowan Parkette- 220 Cowan Avenue

Do you like music, fashion,dance and the Arts?

Get involved have you say...make a difference...have fun.

Certificates provided for all volunteer hours, free food and beverages

Set Up (12pm-2pm)
Put out tables and chairs for vendors, artists and community groups. Stage set up. Set up interactive art zone. Help participants as needed and general clean up of grounds.

Greeters/ Grounds Keep
Welcome people to the Festival. Let them know what it’s about. Answers questions such as what’s happening, where’s the washroom, etc. Keep the park clean by picking up cans, bottles and containers to put in the garbage or recycling. Empty garbage cans as needed.

Interactive Art Zone
Ensure people stay only a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes at each Zone. Explain the purpose of the art areas. Answer questions.

Children’s Activity Area
Assist organizers with various duties including face painting, chalk drawings, story telling and more.

Performer Lounge
Greet performers, remind them of their set time, ensure room has beverages and food available at all times.

Fund-raising
Sell raffle tickets and Parkdale pins to raise money for the Festival.

Runners
To be on call and available as needed to assist with various duties such as helping with set up for performers, getting supplies, and general errands.

Participant and Attendee Surveys
Go around and get people to answer a few questions on the Festival. It will take a maximum of one minute to complete. They will be provided with the survey sheet and pens.

Tear Down (6pm-8pm) (10pm-11pm)
Put away tables and chairs for vendors, artists and community groups (6pm-8pm). Stage tear down, help participants as needed, and general clean up of the grounds (10pm-11pm)

Volunteer shifts are 4 hours but can be flexible based on individual requirements.
